Ted Yost ran the Gunsmith Gunsmithy when founder Jeff Copper decided to offer a “package” of modifications he deemed necessary on a pre-built model he called the Gunsite Service Pistol. Ted was running the shop at that time and had five pistolsmiths working under his direction. Ted said the early GSPs were “a gun by committee” with the different gunsmiths doing various aspects of the work. Yost said he cannot claim to have built this pistol in its entirety, but it was made on his watch and he probably did some of the work. A GSP did not come with front strap checkering. This pistol was subsequently sent to Pete Single for 25 lpi checkering and also Pete Single fitted a Stan Chen mag funnel. The slide features the Gunsite Raven logo and Gunsite grips. A pistol with attribution to both Ted Yost and Pete Single, an excellent combination!
